Table Rock Bathhouse - The South Carolina Foothills Trail Center
Constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Table Rock State Park highlights the rugged mountain beauty of South Carolina. The CCC executed the vision of National Park Service planners and engineers by constructing beautiful facilities that captured the spirit of the park through the use of native building materials and thoughtful placement. One of the most striking CCC facilities is the Table Rock Bathhouse. The bathhouse sits perched atop a hill in the very heart of the park, with a commanding view of the beach and Lake Pinnacle. As the demand for the changing rooms and lockers have decreased over the years, the building has become just a large restroom that is only used 3 months out of the year. Instead of being a hub for park activity, the building has become a footnote. Please join us in our efforts to bring the bathhouse back to its standing as the heart of the park and transforming it into The South Carolina Foothills Trail Center. This facility will house interactive displays, maps and exhibits that will highlight the natural resources and hiking opportunities; not only within Table Rock State Park, but also the entire Mountain Region of South Carolina. The new facility will also house park offices and a lecture space within the original footprint of the historic CCC structure.
